Premier Streaming Event Gives Oft-Overlooked Games a Promotional Platform

Tokyo, JAPAN: EISYS, Inc., the company behind the world-renowned online doujinshi retailer, DLsite, is pleased to announce Hentai-Expo 2023, the second annual streaming event dedicated to adult gaming. Debuting in 2022, the original Hentai-Expo showcased over 70 game titles across a 90-minute programming block. This year's event will feature more than 100 titles with a focus on Japanese – and Japanese-inspired – design during its 5-hour runtime, beginning on April 16th at 10am JST. Inaugural hosts HighGai and Kaho Shibuya return this year, alongside EISYS organizer and co-host, DLsite-M.

Hentai-Expo was born of the dream to amplify the reach of an entire sector of gaming that has often been turned away from traditional gaming expos. DLsite-M explains, “There are so many events for gaming worldwide, but nothing that gives adult-oriented content a strong international platform. There's a hole in the world of gaming publicity for these creators, and we're stepping up to fill it.” In an effort to keep Hentai-Expo accessible to creators large and small, without limiting viewership, participation and viewing are free of charge.

The 18+ event will be streamed exclusively at hentai-expo.com, with live chat during the stream supported by Hentai-Expo's official Discord server. A VOD (video on demand) program will be available at the same website after the live event concludes.

In 2022, Hentai-Expo attracted approximately 1,500 concurrent viewers with over 90% audience retention for the duration of the program. This year, around 10,000 international viewers are anticipated during the 5-hour livestream. With EISYS, Inc. at the helm, Hentai-Expo is uniquely positioned to elevate the work of countless developers and publishers typically relegated to the fringes of gaming. Plans are already in motion to expand content offerings in future events to the entire world of adult-oriented otaku entertainment.

EISYS, Inc. was established in 1994 and opened its web service Soft Island in 1996 as the first digital shop in Japan to focus on doujin/indie content. In 2001, Soft Island was rebranded DLsite, a name which is well-known today among anime fans in Japan and abroad, boasting over 9 million users and 560,000 digital products as of February 2023. EISYS, Inc. operates out of a spacious office outfitted for its more than 300 employees, in the world's anime capitol: Akihabara, Japan.
