In-Game Giveaway to Commemorate 9 Million Downloads of Shadowverse
TOKYO – May 2, 2017 – Japanese game developer Cygames has announced a special in-game giveaway to commemorate 9 million downloads of its hit collectible card game Shadowverse. The giveaway comes after the launch of new story content for solo players and on top of a collaboration with CAPCOM that will see characters from Street Fighter V appear in the game, giving strategy fans even more reasons to check out Japan's leading digital CCG.
Since its launch in June last year, Shadowverse has established itself as Japan's leading digital collectible card game, and is at the forefront of Japan's burgeoning esports scene. With over 40 free card packs for new players; nine packs to celebrate 9m downloads; another free card pack as part of the Street Fighter V collaboration; new story content; and the $10,000 cash prize on offer for winners of the game's North American esports league - the NGE Shadowverse Open - there has never been a better time to check out the game.
About the Nine Million Download Promotion
Users who play Shadowverse during the promotion will receive nine Tempest of the Gods card packs for use in the game. (Please note that users must complete the in-game tutorial in order to receive this gift.) The promotion will run until May 25, 2017 (PT).
About the Street Fighter V collaboration
Under the collaboration with CAPCOM, Shadowverse will feature seven Leader Packs containing a Leader skin, an emblem and a set of card sleeves. The Leader Packs will be available to buy either individually or as a single set. The game will also feature a special giveaway campaign that will run until May 25, 2017 (PT). Anyone who plays the game on five days during the campaign period will receive a special card sleeve, emblem, and a card pack from the recent Tempest of the Gods expansion.
About the new story content
Three more chapters will be added to Shadowverse in the Main Story mode for the Leaders Arisa, Erika, and Luna, presenting players with challenging new AI opponents and revealing more about the mysteries that lie behind the enigmatic Infinity Gate. Play through the new chapters to reveal more about Erika's troubled past; Arisa's uneasy relationship with her mentor, Losaria; and the truth behind the fate of Luna's parents.
