NEXTON supports Light after original parent company dissolves

Visual novel game developer Light announced on Friday that it has continued development of the Silverio Ragnarok game for release in spring 2020. Light is partnering with Ares and developing the game with the support of NEXTON.

For the first time in the series' history, the game will have both an 18+ version and an all-ages version. The game is the final planned work in the series. An official website for the game is slated to open in winter 2019.

The core production staff responsible for coloring, scripts, and scenario during the game's initial development are returning. Other freelance and corporate staff members that previously participated in development are also collaborating on the game. Ryō Takahama and Marimo Morima are in charge of the scenario. KeG and Rokuji are credited with the original art. Hideki Higuchi is composing the music.

Greenwood, the former parent company of Light, announced on March 31 that the company had dissolved. The company stated at that time that the team working on the Silverio series was preparing to continue development with a different company, with the series' final work planned for release next year.

The company canceled development of the Dies irae Pantheon smartphone/SNS game when it dissolved. However, the staff hoped to finish the game with another company.

Light and Greenwood were founded in June 1999.
