Black Cats Mix Business & Pleasure for Japan's Yamato Transport Service Ad

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Yamato Transport Company is a staple in Japan and a godsend for travelers. For a low fee, they'll move a person's luggage from one destination to another within the country, making those close quarters subway and train rides much more convenient. The company's logo is immediately recognizable, showing a mother black cat carrying her kitten in her mouth.

The company is hoping to garner favor by promoting the Internet's favorite pet in a 40th anniversary ad that blends the viral kind of weirdness that can only come from the 'net. In the video, three well-dressed men wearing giant black cat heads, dance, party and play ping pong to a catchy rendition of "Neko Fujatta." The song, known by many different names internationally, is originally a piano piece.
