For anyone interested in this, keep in mind that the current version has a really rough English translation. It's fine but not optimal. I hope they update it somewhat for the release on other consoles.

Is that the same for the first game, was the first game's eventually fixed?

I wonder if I were to take a bet that they used Ai, if I'd be right or not...

FM1 had a bit of a rough translation, but that was mostly just owing to stiffness and a (presumed) lack of editing/localization. FM2's script, at least at release, read like the product of machine translation that, at best, had been quickly edited by a non-native speaker (and was still riddled with typos).

I recall some people claimed that some of the more glaring issues were remedied in a patch, making FM2 more legible, if still not yet fully engaging, but I've not gone back to it myself since that first week post-release.

It was never so bad as to render the game unplayable, like certain other MT'd games from Bandai-Nampo I could name, but it was bad enough to make the whole experience pretty unemployable IME.

And don't count on the PC version being sufficiently malleable that modders can fix the script on their own.

A new update is out for FM2 that mentions grammar errors, was it the fix?
