This series hadn’t been licensed yet?

It's surprising because I think it is difficult to get series from alphapolis. Whoever negotiated should get a bonus.

The manga sort of is, as alphapolis is releasing it in English via the AlphaManga app and in digital volumes e.g., on Kindle. The first few chapters ended up on Crunchyroll Manga near the end.

This has been a very long time in coming. Alphapolis has ignored the english market for almost all their works for a long time. They finally opened some of their manga to english markets in the middle of last year. Finally we are seeing Tsukimichi's light novel get a translation. Even fansubbers didn't touch it since we only got 1 person who did the web novel (with a lot of learning in translation needed).

Is anyone familiar with the quality of the translation and product of Hanashi Media?

That's great! Now I hope it can eventually get a print release...

Great pick up, and huge for Alphapolis to trust a english publisher. Hanashi just has to make sure to do the best of their ability with the handling of the series so we might see more from Alpha in the future!
